Research Fellow -  Evaluation Theme

An exciting opportunity to join a group of internationally renowned researchers. 


We are looking for candidates who can identify areas for research, develop new research methods and extend our existing research portfolio.

 

This position will focus on refinement of research methodologies in two critical areas of applied health research: delivery of rapid evaluation and enhancing the relevance of research by ensuring research includes participant populations with the greatest need.

 

Our work is directly informed by the needs of both this system and the local population. Our over-arching goal is to improve the health of the GM population and the quality and sustainability of the health and social care they receive. We will achieve this by co-producing excellent research in areas prioritised by the system and by enhancing its impact through supported implementation into policy and practice. 


You will work with Prof. Peter Bower as well as other members of the Evaluation Theme (including Prof. Jo Dumville) and will be based in the Division of Population Health, Health Services Research and Primary Care in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health.

Research Associate -  Healthy Ageing Theme

Salary: £32,816 to £40,322 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours per week: full time
Contract Duration:  1  October until 31 March 2022 (with the potential to extend further)

 

You will join a multi-site/national project team working on a scale-up of the Falls Management Exercise (FaME) programme 

 

The project is funded by the NIHR Healthy Ageing, Dementia and Frailty National Priority Research Programme and you will work alongside colleagues working on this project in other sites across UK.

 

The post will include developing a study protocol, ethics application, working with local service providers and commissioners, collecting and analysing data and disseminating study findings.  You will be able to develop research objectives, projects and proposals; contribute to the process of securing additional funds and make presentations at conferences and other events.
