Greater Manchester CLAHRC feature in latest HSRN Briefing

NHS Confederation backs the work of the Greater Manchester CLAHRC in a recent Health Services Research Network briefing. In the paper, Greater Manchester is referenced for its partnership work with  Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland around improvements to Chronic Kidney Disease care as well as its Heart Failure audit tool project. In addition, the briefing also looks at the excellent work  carried out by eight other CLAHRCs across the country and focuses on their collective contribution to improvements in patient care. The paper champions the achievements of CLAHRCs nationally, and stresses that this has been achieved despite the backdrop of a tough economic climate. The briefing reads: “the NHS’s ability to harness innovation to improve patient outcomes is more important than ever. Although it has been said that getting research into practice takes 17 years; CLAHRCs have shown that it’s possible within three years, through collaborative partnership working.” Ruth Boaden GM CLAHRC Deputy Director added: “We are pleased to see the work of CLAHRCs across the country recognised in Briefings such as this. This is a timely publication as Manchester hosts the HSRN Symposium and NHS Confederation Annual Conference & Exhibition this week.”
