Organising Care

Aims and Scope

The aim of the Organising Care research theme is to provide high quality evidence to inform the planning and delivery of integrated health and care services which are effective, efficient and equitable.

Key Focuses

Our key short term objectives are to support the Greater Manchester (GM) health and care system as it develops more integrated ways of working by:

  • exploring health and care workforce issues arising out of integrated inter-disciplinary working;

  • developing a programme of research in care homes, building from the 20 GM Teaching Care Homes work, in the areas of person-centred care, digital enablement and partnership working;

  • evaluating innovations that aim to reduce demand for urgent and emergency care;

  • evaluating the impacts of new ways of working on equity in access to and delivery of care across communities.
